Fermentation Tank

Fermentation Tank

The specifications of fermenters are designed to accommodate the unique features of different beer varieties and the different proportions of these varieties. This encompasses a range of configurations, including pumps, valves, pipeline systems, sensors, top operation platforms, and more.

Fermentation process: closed-pressure fermentation

Cleaning process: CIP automatic cleaning

Dry Hopping: Hop gun on line

Cooling performance

The whole cooling system utilizes a 33% hybrid refrigerant, which is a -5 °C ethylene glycol. This refrigerant provides efficient cooling, while also maintaining a low operating temperature.

The cooling speed is 0.8-1°C/hour for 18°C-5°C and 0.05-0.2°C/hour for 5°C-0°C. The cooling parameters can be set to achieve precise control of cooling speed at different stages.

The fermenter adopts the straight wall and cone multi-zone cooling, which can realize the segmented temperature control. The main fermentation is cooled at different temperatures upper and lower to ensure full convection heat transfer. You can reduce the cone cooling intensity during lagering to prevent icing on the inner surface.

Automation features

  • Automation degree: semi-automated, with a degree of automation of about 50 percent
  • Process valve pipe gallery: centralized operation and the saving of manpower through the use of the pipe gallery system to control each process
  • Temperature control: set the cooling curve parameters according to the formula, the system can be fully automatic control according to the set parameters
  • Liquid level control: equipped with sanitary level sensors, which can detect the level of fermentation liquid in the tank in real time
  • Recipe Storage: System facilitates the setting and storage of fermentation parameters for different beer types, allowing for efficient recipe management. You can select your preferred recipe during fermentation and have it run automatically.
  • Alarm protection automation: Fault alarm functions such as valve opening and closing alarms, low material level alarms and mechanical operation alarms can be configured at different levels.
  • Safety protection automation: The safety function can be set to the highest level, including the manway opening shutdown, the empty material stop protection function, etc.
  • Archived logs: The operating log of each electrical component is stored by the system during operation, enabling the brewing process to be recorded and tracked.

Energy-saving design

The cooling of the fermentation process adopts PID adjustment, the cooling curve can be set, and the refrigerant supply starts and stops smoothly, greatly saving the pump load.

Sanitation

  • The fermenter’s inner surface meets the high hygiene standards with Ra less than 0.4 microns.
  • Well-known brand 360° high-efficiency rotation cleaning ball provides full coverage without dead ends.
  • The CIP cleaning parameters will be precisely calculated and configured with high-quality, efficient cleaning pumps to ensure the intensity of flushing.
  • We use well-known brand sanitary piping and achieve high cleanliness and easy cleaning.
  • All bypass-valves are welded using a short diameter, with no dead space for pipe cleaning.

Configuration features

  • Material: We chose big brands 304 stainless steel plates because of their acid and corrosion resistance, long-term high-temperature resistance, and reliable and guaranteed quality.
  • Cleaning System: The automatic CIP System and high-quality rotary cleaning ball in this tank ensure there is no dead space, which is essential to maintaining the hygiene of the brewing process.
  • Sanitary pipeline, high polishing precision, no dead ends to minimize the risk of bacterial build-up
  • Our high-quality stainless steel valves include butterfly valves, angle seat valves, and diaphragm valves. They are equipped with imported valve cores that provide excellent resistance to acid and alkali corrosion, and high and low temperatures. These valves meet the highest health standards.
  • Welding: The welding process uses automatic equipment to maintain a consistent temperature, reduce oxidation, and prevent ferrite precipitation. This ensures a smooth weld with high fusion and meets hygiene standards.
  • All welds undergo multi-stage mechanical polishing and pickling passivation to achieve a polished inner surface with a degree of less than 0.4 microns, meeting high hygienic standards.
  • Insulation: We use polyurethane thermal insulation, with a density of 40 ± kg/m³ and excellent thermal insulation performance.
  • Safety: equipped with an efficient, top-quality breathing valve with positive and negative pressure protection. The pressure relief valve is designed to operate below 2 bar, ensuring tank integrity is maintained at all times.
