- Pre-soaking enhances the resilience of wheat husks. Once crushed, the wheat husk maintains its structural integrity, a quality beneficial to the lautering process. The lauter tun’s unit load is higher, up to 250-350kg/m², which allows for more efficient wort lautering. Additionally, harmful components of the wheat husk are less dissolved.
