What are the improvements of modern filter tank compared with traditional filter tank?
Compared with the traditional filter tank, the main structure of modern filter tank has not changed much, and its improvement is mainly reflected in the level of equipment, production capacity and automatic control.
(1) Large capacity. As beer production tends to be large-scale and collectivized, and the time for filtration of each batch of wort is limited, the filtration tank, like other production equipment, is also developing towards large-scale. The hot wort obtained from each batch of filtration has increased from more than ten tons in the past to more than 100 tons.
(2) The production material is changed from traditional copper to stainless steel with insulation layer. Especially the stress of the filter plate increases and the opening rate increases (up to 15%).
(3) Mash entry and wort export，In order to avoid the air contact with the inner space of the filter tank, the traditional mash feeding in the upper part of the modern filter tank is replaced by mash feeding in the bottom. The wort outlet pipe is connected to the sealed collector (or collecting pipe) under the filter tank, and the wort filtered out enters the collector and is pumped out by the wort pump.
(4) The grain tiller plays an important role in speeding up wort filtration and improving wort quality. Different from the traditional filter tank, the modern filter tank can be installed with 2, 3, 4 or 6 tiller arms according to its capacity, and the form of tiller blade is also diversified, including single foot tiller blade, double foot tiller blade and bow shaped tiller blade
(5) The fully enclosed modern filter tank adopts the fully enclosed type, the wort filtered out no longer flows into the open wort receiving dish, but observes the clarity of wort through the window, thus avoiding the contact between wort and air under high temperature and reducing the chance of wort oxidation.
(6) Automatic control modern filter tank basically realizes automatic control. After the process parameters are input into the program, the centralized control can be carried out in the control room through the computer, which reduces the error caused by manual operation.
