Kweza Craft Brewery was founded by Rwandan female entrepreneurs in collaboration with Beau’s Brewery (Canada), with a bold mission: to empower women through craft beer.
For centuries, women across Africa have brewed traditional beers, yet rarely benefited commercially from their skills. Kweza is rewriting this story by creating a women-led brewery where women manage every aspect of operations—from production to leadership—while sharing in the profits.
With growing investor support and a successful Kickstarter campaign, Kweza set out to build a modern brewery that blends heritage, sustainability, and quality.

Kweza chose Tiantai Brewing Equipment as their trusted partner. We supplied a custom 10HL (1000L) brewing system tailored to Kweza’s brewing philosophy and operational needs.
Configuration Provided:
- Malt miller (300–500 kg/hr)
- 800L grist silo
- 1000L brewhouse (MT + LT + KWT + HLT, steam-heated)
- 7 × 1000L fermentation tanks + 1 × 1000L bright beer tank
- 1000L glycol water tank + 2000L cold water tank + 2 × 5HP chillers
- Brewhouse & fermentation control cabinets
- Automatic keg filler & washer
- Air compressor, beer kegs, and auxiliary equipment
Project Highlights:
- In early 2023, the system arrived in Kigali after 30 days of shipping
- Tiantai technicians worked alongside Kweza’s team for installation and training
- The system was quickly integrated, enabling the production of diverse, locally-inspired craft beers
